Recently we’ve welcomed Mollie Owen, Operations Officer for Coventry & Warwickshire, who has spoken to students in Year 9 and Year 10 about an opportunity to get involved in The Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Doing a DofE award is a brilliant way for young people to discover just how much they are capable of. It gives young people the chance to make new friends, follow their passions, learn new skills and make a difference in our community. Gaining a DofE Award is a great way to impress employers too.

There are three levels of DofE Award – Bronze, Silver and Gold. To achieve the awards, each young people will need to complete four sections – Volunteering, Physical, Skills and the Expedition. The duration of these section varies depending on the level being undertaken.

Following Molly’s assembly a letter introducing the DofE awards at AVS has been sent to parent/carers via ClassCharts. To download the letter click the link below.
