School Uniform and Equipment
Our students are role models for the school and represent the school in our wider community therefore we want our students to look smart and to be proud of their appearance.
Students are expected to wear full school uniform, including a blazer, at all times, to and from school and within the school premises, unless advised by a member of staff.
Following our parental consultation regarding our school uniform policy, we have decided to make some changes for September 2025. We understand the financial pressures many families face, and we are committed to making school as affordable and accessible as possible while maintaining high standards.
From September 2025, there will be only two compulsory branded uniform items plus the school tie:
- AVS school blazer
- AVS PE polo shirt
- AVS school tie
These items, along with the school tie, will continue to be available from our uniform supplier, Webb Ellis. School ties can also be purchased directly from school.
All other uniform items – including black trousers, white shirts, navy PE shorts and other basics – may now be purchased from any retailer, allowing parents greater flexibility and the potential to make savings.
For those who wish to purchase them, Webb Ellis will continue to stock several optional branded uniform items. These remain high quality and reasonably priced, and parents are welcome to buy them should they prefer.

We would also like to clarify the following:
- All students are permitted, regardless of gender, to wear black tailored trousers.
- A branded school skirt option currently remains available from our supplier for any student who prefers to wear one. No other skirt options are permitted.
Additionally, from September 2025, we are updating our footwear expectations:
Students will be permitted to wear any all-black leather-look footwear. This change provides parents with more choice when shopping for reasonably priced and more durable footwear, while still ensuring students present a smart and consistent appearance.
