INTRODUCTION TO THE SCHOOL

The Avon Valley School is a popular and over-subscribed foundation school in Warwickshire. We provide an exciting and ambitious curriculum for 11 to 16 year olds and were recently graded 'Good' school by Ofsted. We are committed to building supportive, professional relationships between students, staff, parents and carers and the community that we serve.

At the Avon Valley School, we have established a strong community where staff and students work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Our students are valued as individuals and encouraged to develop their abilities to the full. We are proud of their progress and of their achievements, both academically and in a wide range of extra-curricular areas.

Of all our achievements, we are most proud of our students: their enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and willingness to contribute to the various opportunities that life at Avon Valley School offers and we are united in our commitment to ensuring that all our students receive an excellent education that develops and nurtures their abilities and talents. Avon Valley is an inclusive, warm and welcoming school and we hope that you will join us on our journey to greatness.

WORKING FOR AVS

Our school provides a great learning community, where students, staff and parents work collaboratively to realise every student's potential. We have a hardworking and committed team of specialist teachers who are dedicated to ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students. We have a stable and experienced staff who can offer support and guidance to colleagues at any stage of their career and we actively encourage staff to create a personal improvement and development plan so we can help them realise their career goals and ambitions.

We are considerate of the wellbeing of our staff and offer a range of wellbeing and social events throughout the year plus all teaching staff have more than 10% PPA time as part of their timetable. Across the school, teaching is creative, ambitious and evidence-informed which promotes a place of learning that challenges and supports all students to aspire, engage and achieve. Our staff are enthusiastic, have a good sense of humour and support each other which makes it a fantastic place to work.
